Silver Dalmatian dog 1 ounce
A one ounce (31.103g) silver coin is an ideal gift for special occasions. It is made from silver of purity 999/1000 and is issued in a series of no more than 15,000 pieces. The silver coin comes with a certificate signed by the Governor of the Croatian National Bank.
The “Dalmatian Dog” is the first series of coins “Indigenous Croatia”. In 1994, the International Canine Federation (FCI) recognized the Dalmatian dog as an indigenous Croatian breed, and the Croatian origin of the breed is backed up by pictures and records from church chronicles dating as far back as the 16th century.
The sculptor Nikola Vudrag turned the recognizable features of this breed into a conceptual design, adding some elements of the map of the Republic of Croatia. The characteristic spots of the Dalmatian are used to represent different Croatian islands, and parts of the mainland are shown in relief, with sea waves in the background.
