Description
Canadian Maple Leaf 1/10 oz (Royal Canadian Mint)
Simple and clean in design, this Canadian investment gold coin is considered one of the world’s leading investment coins. It has been in production since 1979 at the Royal Canadian Mint. This makes it one of the oldest investment gold coins available for sale to the general public, along with the South African Krugerrand and the Austrian Corona. The front (face) side of the coin features the maple leaf, the national symbol of Canada. The reverse side features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
The Canadian Maple Leaf is protected by special safety measures implemented in 2013 and 2015. These include laser micro engravings in small areas on the face of the coin, visible only under magnification, along with radial lines in the background of the images on both sides of the coin. Thanks to these, the Canadian Maple Leaf coin is considered the safest coin in the world, where counterfeit production is virtually impossible. The 1/10 Maple Leaf is considered a standard size of this product.
The Royal Canadian Mint was established in 1901. For the first 30 years, the mint operated under the name ‘Ottawa Mint’. The mint produces a wide selection of products made of gold of high purity, silver, palladium, and platinum. Along with the famous Maple Leaf coins, the Royal Canadian Mint produces investment gold bars, as well as gold and silver tokens for use in gold industry and manufacturing.
